Saturns Moon Lapetus

Description

False-colour composite image of the bright, trailing hemisphere of Iapetus, the third largest moon of Saturn. It was originally discovered by Giovanni Cassini, the 17th century astronomer, after whom the Cassini spacecraft was named. It is primarily composed of water ice and has a mean diameter of 1436 kilometres. The image was taken from a distance of about 73000 kilometres, on 10th September 2007.
